The HOCK CMA Distance Learning Program

The HOCK Distance Learning Program (DLP) is a complete preparatory program. Unlike "self-study" systems, you will not study alone. Our experienced staff is available to answer questions, and online discussions with fellow students round out your learning experience.

The HOCK DLP also accommodates non-native English speakers and those who don't have an academic background in U.S. accounting. All that is required is a basic understanding of accounting fundamentals and algebra.

The Study Materials - everything you need to pass the exams

The Study Materials include electronic (downloaded) access to all of the components listed here. All documents can be viewed on the screen and/or printed. We also offer Printed Study Materials that include hard copies of the Textbook, Flash Cards and Study Plan; see Printed Study Materials below.

Textbook	The textbook is the foundation of our program and provides complete background, explanations and examples. There is no need to purchase other books or reference materials.
Flash Cards	Our most popular review tool, the flash cards are valuable when study time is limited. They are convenient to carry with you, or read on your screen, for quick review anytime, anywhere.
ExamSuccess Study Software	The ExamSuccess Study Software has thousands of questions, sorted by topic, along with detailed answer explanations and is a critical element of the HOCK program. Learn more about ExamSuccess.
Practice Questions	While preparing for the comprehensive CMA Part 4 exam or the new 2010 CMA exams, you will use written response Practice Questions in the same style and format as the current exam questions.
Study Plan	The study plan guides you through what to focus on during the different weeks of study for each exam, but you can adapt it to fit your individual schedule using our online Personalized Study Plan. By selecting a date to begin studying and a target exam date, a Personalized Study Plan will automatically adjust the standard Plans to your schedule. You can also have your Personalized Study Plan emailed to you at the beginning of each week.
Free Updates	We regularly update our Study Materials to reflect changes in accounting standards or the exam content, as well as to make clarifications and corrections. You will be able to download updated material at no charge whenever new materials are posted online.
Teacher Support	As you study, you can contact us and receive answers from our teachers who are eager to guide you when you have a specific question. The forum also provides dynamic student discussions for each of the exams, and are monitored by HOCK teachers to maintain technical accuracy.

Printed Study Materials

The Printed Study Materials are available with the purchase of the Downloaded Study Materials and give you the flexibility of studying online or offline without having the hassle or expense of doing your own printing. The Printed Study Materials are identical to the download versions and are a great value compared to printing everything yourself.

Our textbooks are printed on standard weight white paper for increased readability and durability, especially when highlighting. We use comb bindings that allow you to easily open your book flat on your desk. A 3-hole punch paper option is also available if you prefer the convenience of being able to make your own mini-textbooks in binders.

Our flash cards are printed on card stock and are shipped in flat perforated sheets, six cards to a page. This reduces your shipping costs by allowing us to use standard paper/book size boxes. You simply pull the flash cards apart when you receive them.

The printed study materials also include a hard copy of the study plan for easy reference.

Class Recordings - for extra preparation in a different presentation

Teaching more than 100 days a year for over eight years throughout Eastern Europe, Brian Hock is one of the most knowledgeable and experienced CMA teachers in the world. Now you can learn from him wherever you are. Unlike some competitors' audio offerings, these are recordings of actual classes with real students, not abbreviated versions of the textbook read aloud. The Class Recordings are in mp3 format; samples are available. Note: There are no Class Recordings for "Old" Part 1 Section E, for "Old" Part 2 Section C, for Systems Controls and Security Measures from 2010 CMA Part 1 Section D, and for a few other topics throughout the material.

iPod nano - You can also purchase our CMA Class Recordings pre-loaded on a 5th generation 8GB or 16GB iPod nano. Your iPod nano will truly give you the ability to study anytime, anywhere. There is even plenty of room for your own music or photos. The pre-loaded iPod is available to US and Canadian customers only, and also includes access to download the Class Recordings from our web site.

All of our Study Materials are designed for immediate worldwide delivery by download to your computer from our web site as soon as your order is processed. Using a laptop computer, you can study wherever you go without carrying any books or CDs. Our electronic delivery also ensures that you always have the most recent materials, and you can download the latest updates at any time.

Our software is compatible with Windows 7, Vista, XP, and 2000 and Mac OS X 10.4.11 or higher. An active Internet connection is required to verify access initially on each computer, but is not required for ongoing use - all materials are stored on your computer and can be used offline.
